Methodology Every Business Continuity Program consists of three basic elements - Assessment, Development, and Management. Each element has several components geared towards the design and implementation of a viable Business Continuity Program (BCP). Assessment The first element is used to assess a company's current situation - what are the potential risks and strategies that could impact the company's ability to serve its customer base. The following components make up the Assessment phase of the BCP: o Corporate BC Program Development o Impact Analysis (BIA, Criticality Analysis) o Requirements Analysis o Crisis Management Program o Awareness Program Development During the Development phase of the BCP, a review of the first phase is conducted to ensure the recovery details support the critical business functions/processes. During this phase, the following tasks are performed: o Training (Knowledge transfer) o Strategy Development/Implementation o Plan Development o Distribution Management The on-going Management of the BCP will ensure the Plan is kept in a current state of readiness.
